dc.description.abstract In today’s day and age the paradigm of transportation is at a crossroads of a new shift that is of self-driving vehicles, although the self-driving vehicles have become functional and are in use, the shift in technology takes time and is constantly evolving and needs attention especially in third world countries such as Pakistan which do not have localized data sets for such programs to be trained upon. Our Project is a vital part of this very self-driving technology i.e. the lane detection system. We aim to use sensors complimenting a main Camera for our sight with the detection apparatus programmed through Open CV using the python Interface. The apparatus will be able to locate and detect lanes on a road in order to process and visualize a path for the vehicle to follow. The main goal of this project is to program a usable well trained algorithm capable of lane detection on the Pakistani Roads hence making the project a localized endeavor. The proposed project strictly involves creating and training a localized programmed apparatus to be used for lane detection only in aiding self-driving vehicles. en_US
