dc.description.abstract This chapter seeks to address the following questions: Howe do trade unions organise themselves? What kinds of activities are trade unions involved in? What are the strategies adopted by trade unions? The chapter begins by tracing the emergence of trade unions within the historical, political, economic and legal context of Thailand. Following this discussion, the types and structure of unions and the activities in which they engage will be examined. The outcomes and effectivenes of trade unions, and their current condition will be explained. The chapter concludes by discussing the challenges and future prospects for trade unions in THailand en_US
