Abstract:
The garment industry of Pakistan, in specific the most important cloth, thread generating
factories of Pakistan are still working in the old fashioned, pre-internet era manner. It is for
this reason that Pakistan’s garment factories are not up to date with modern technological
frameworks that are implemented in the industrial sector of other nations. This makes it
difficult for us to compete in the global market. The current international standards for
industrial automation that have been devised to measure the efficiency and performance of
industries is known as the fourth industrial revolution or “Industry 4. 0”. Our aim is to
provide cost friendly, resource efficient product to all the relevant industries of our country.
Our project is targeting the garment section of industries, be it government based or private
and aim to provide them with the international standard compatible software to monitor all
workflows, processes, workers, entry and exit points of their business and determine their
current constraints and barriers (if applicable) that were invisible before and devise more
efficient working methodologies to not only improve the efficiency of each department in
itself but also of the complete factory as a whole, improve their production rate while keeping
the quality of the product in check.
We have successfully developed an inventory management system integrated with smart
decision-making capability with the help of forecasting and genetic algorithms that provide
valuable support in smart decision making with regards to the management of inventory.
