Abstract:
The problem of high technological scientific facilities not being available to people in
affordable prices creates a gap between people and medical diagnosis. Hence to bridge the
gap we tend to implement the idea of a low-cost microscope (3D) with image processing
techniques. The major aim of this project is to build a low-cost, portable microscope, and to
facilitate people by providing them a cost-effective means to connect with frugal science.
Moboscope works by capturing high resolution microscopic images using a self-made lowcost microscope connected to a mobile application for real time analysis of the image. The
objectives are to provide access to low cost scientific tools that must be available to a huge
number of people, to diminish the distance between doctors and patients by providing an
easy to carry device and to connect science and society through frugal science.
