Abstract:
Bridges have always played a very important role in the
development of any nation. The bridges and aqueducts since long
have been serving as an important link between areas separated
either by a difficult terrain or a water body. The result is an improved
communication infrastructure which further enhances development.
During wars and battles bridges were always the first line of defence
against enemy aggression. Destroying a bridge meant destroying an
enemy supply line, this reduced the enemy resources and annihilated
its morale thus bringing the enemy to his knees. That is why a very
special emphasis has always been laid down on the protection of
bridges during any conflict
