dc.description.abstract Toys have been around since the beginning of time as a way of entertaining children and at the same time educating them and giving them important values that they could not otherwise have easily learnt. Children of today, as we all can alarmingly notice, have stopped engaging in physically active games and tend to overindulge in smartphones, TV screens and other gadgets. This hinders in the healthy growth of many primary qualities that need to be molded in a person from a young age, for example physical development, social development and developed motor skills. All these attributes are compromised more or less when they are exposed to screens and gadgets that restrict them in their creative process and physical interaction. As toys were a predominant method for helping children in their character building, as previously mentioned, toys that attract them or tempt them to leave smart screens and gadgets, and to be physically and mentally engaged while playing is the basic aim of this project. This will be possible by having a deep understanding of how child psychology works and observing how the environment, that they live in, affects the decisions they or their parents take for them. I look at how toy manufacturers take inspiration from the past and toys are modified to suit the era in which they are made. I also touch upon child psychology and how to tackle this using design in a smart and skillful manner. en_US
