The project targets the need of better solution for health and safety of the coal miners
in Pakistan to reduce death rate and diseases causing during the process of mining due
poorly designed locally available gears. Today, there are around 270,000 miners
working in mines across the country, most of them without any reliable safety. Every
other month, many incidents happen due to the poor precautionary measures and lack
of awareness and unreliable solutions in the local market. The idea is to provide safety
by considering the cultural and atmospheric aspects and without invading the comfort
zone of workers and giving them a room to take a decision for themselves. This paper
contains a detailed literature research that supports the problem identification and the
situation of the coal miners in Pakistan. Solution involves the existing technologies
supported by several case studies and reports.
The stakeholders of the project are the organizations working under Government PMDC
(Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation) and other private organizations dealing
coal mining in Pakistan.
As is the nature of this report, all aspects of the project from conception to end are
presented here for the reader along with a detailed annex and bibliography, so justice is
done to the cause of the project. |
