Abstract:
This project aims to study Asthmatics and their quality of life in relation to their
surroundings. While the interaction of the Asthmatics with their environment
have often been looked as threatening, however, the opportunity in this situation
would be to optimize the interaction so as to benefit the current patient and the
possible future patients subject to this disease. Asthma is known as a noncommunicable
disease which cannot be cured. This respiratory disease is treated
using medicines or physically managed by taking precautionary measures to
reduce asthmatic flare ups. Asthmatics particularly in developing countries are
less aware of their condition or have the knowledge of having this disease to
begin with.
The research conducted had two primary objectives to understand the level of
knowledge of the population about their indoor air in relation to their health and,
secondly, what are the measures the general population were taking to manage
their condition, Asthma.
The main concept was to introduce a strategic system where the health of the
Asthmatic can be managed and monitored through ontological design approach.
Where the need of current stakeholders and the possible stakeholders are meet
and shaped respectively.
