Abstract:
Research shows that one of the pertinent problems of the refugees living in
northern areas of Pakistan, is the absence of daily life necessities such as electricity
and gas. This makes them resort to cutting down trees for their cooking purposes.
It is certainly a dilemma for the people that are deprived of these resources, as it
is old fashioned, tiring, and time consuming. The resources that are readily
available to the refugees living in those parts are all natural such as trees, biomass
and sometimes coal. So, to bridge the gap between their traditional methods and
already available resources, we have devised a product that would help these
people in overcoming their persistence of outdated methods. As an outcome of the
research, a cooking stove with a unique design that utilizes biomass for power is
proposed. Our aim is to make our product sustainable and user-friendly for these
people. It will allow them to cook without any hassle, while being environmentally
conscious by utilizing the waste material. We believe in going green while
improving the standard of living of the people that use this stove. By using this
cooking stove, it will drastically lower the rate of environmental pollution as well
as halt the deforestation process in those areas respectively.
