Grabet: Automating Supermarkets

Abstract

Shopping at supermarkets is a time consuming and tiring task. Extensive wait, rush and long lines cause human errors, fatigue and a general exhaustion. In my final year project, I plan to solve this problem through the introduction of an advanced product that reduces the whole shopping process to a half. My vision is to produce Pakistan's first ever automated shopping and check-out· system, while simultaneously enhancing the overall customer experience at the store. This project is based on a thorough and extensive research on how we need to break a norm by introducing automation and becoming more comfortable towards it, all based on solid factual investigation. The aim of this project is to provide an accepted, efficient, high quality, cost worthy/efficient, speedy and of course, aesthetic solution to the problem declared. In conclusion, my project is a combination of product and experience design.
