dc.description.abstract Muslims all over the world use ablution area facilities to perform Wudu. This is a compulsory act of cleansing oneself in order to be able to perform other religious acts or rituals. Performing ablution is an essential part of a practicing Muslim and on average Muslims perform ablution 5 times a day. Now the ablution area facilities whether in the Mosques or at the home are often poorly designed and can therefore result in a lot of problems especially for the elderly Muslims. These ablution areas can sometimes result in serious injuries which can be hard to recover from. In the local context, the bathroom sink is the area used by most Muslims to perform their ablution. Now the washroom sink comes with a lot of shortcomings when it comes to performing ablution. With problems such as limited mobility and unavailability of proper resources, it becomes really hard for the elderly Muslims to perform Wudu inside their home at any time of the day. Although these issues are faced by a majority of the elderly Muslim population, there are little to no design solutions that are available in the market.Wudu Port is a portable product that makes it easier for the elderly Muslims to perform Wudu anytime of the day inside their homes. It comes with a wash basin, a clean water container which has a capacity of 10-liter water, a wastewater container having a capacity of 10-liter water, a feet washing unit which enables the user to wash his feet without the need of bending over or putting his feet on the wash basin. In this way the product can be wheeled to the user, or the user can wheel it himself to any sitting spot where he can comfortably perform his ablution. The Wudu Port also comes with a charging and refilling station that can automatically refill the water container with the help of a hose pipe connected to a water supply and an electric connection. It also automatically drains out the wastewater with the help of a hose pipe. All these features help the user to easily and safely perform his Wudu in the comfort of his own room. en_US
