Deafness is a condition that affects about 5% of the world's population.
Despite the advancements in technology, there is still a lot of room for
development to help the hearing impaired communicate with others without
compromising their own language: sign language.
This report focuses on how the deaf live, their culture, and their historical
background, as well as technology and its effects on them, how deafness
occurs and how they interact with society with their condition.
I focused my research on understand major aspects and requirements that
the hearing impaired deem necessary to design my product. I conducted
various interviews and from organizations too to better understand how their
daily life goes and the problems they face.
I analyzed various case studies and compared them to each other, finding
what lacks what and cross checked it with the data I gathered to create a
solution. |
