Disability is the term that is used to explain any condition in which a human body
can't properly work or find hindrance due to any fault in their physical or mental
part. Intellectual disability, once called as" Mental Retardation" are the problems
related to mental abilities and working. The disability level goes from mild to
severe as the IQ level goes from high to low.
In a developing country like Pakistan, the work done for the development and
learning of these children are not up to mark. There are variety of difficulties,
they face during their lifetime. The problematic areas can be memory skills,
recalling things, retaining attention, rapid response, problem solving and
comprehending complex ideas. The children with mild and moderate level of
disability can work up on these things with constant practice. These areas require
the work from the early stage of education during their developing ages. Design
to improve the quality of learning of intellectually disabled children.
FOCUS on it is a series of memory based electronic games that is consists of
three level that targets on a child's cognitive skills mainly do work on memory,
reasoning, slow processing and problem solving. An interactive design that
engages the user by giving positive and negative feedbacks in form of light in
different colors. The outcomes of the games will show up with the help of longterm
use of this product as a more confident and sharper child. |
