dc.description.abstract | Residential and public use water storage tanks require regular maintenance and might cause health problems and plumbing issues if not maintained regularly. A regularly cleaned water tank not only prevents the outbreak of disease due to pollutants but also keeps away common health problems such as cholera, dysentery and gastroenteritis. Apart from the health benefits, regular water tank cleaning is also cost effective and prolongs the tank life. The current methods used to clean tanks are not as safe and sustainable as they should be. The manual cleaning method involves a number of safety hazards and challenges which include physical hazards, microbial allergies and oxygen deficiency which may turn fatal. A sustainable and safe solution for de-sedimentation and sludge removal will help resolve this issue. | en_US |
