Abstract:
Fairly large gaps exist in the waste management practices prevalent in Pakistan, which is alarming,
considering the fact that waste generation is predicted to increase in a multipliable fashion through
the coming years. Much of the discard that can be put to use, most of which is organic, ends up
unused and rotten. Research shows that the most efficient solution is putting this organic matter to
use through a facility as soon after production as possibleproposedly the house itself. Targeting
homeowners as users, the said facility incentivizes waste sorting and recycling through providing
useful fuel. The solution is a convertible stove/heating unit that converts kitchen waste to biogas
and/or fertilizer, that not only helps in reducing waste quantities but also provides a backup and
cheaper solution to currently prevalentgas-shortage issues.
