dc.description.abstract This project recognizes the need for diversifying the typological palette of the city, by iterating and modifying exiting residential typologies in the city to fit the needs of students and young professionals; an ever-present and increasingly growing demographic. Simultaneously the project also aims to capitalize on the opportunities afforded by creation of spaces that allow people with similar aspirations but diverse backgrounds to come together. Modularity is used as the architectonic parallel for exploring the part-to-whole dynamics in a community. The planning methodologies of the conventional housing type are iterated to derive a planning scheme that incites moments of interactions to cultivate a sense of community; a lasting connection to an otherwise impermanent experience. en_US
