Abstract:
The fast fashion textile industry operates in a highly competitive and dynamic environment,
requiring rapid production cycles, innovation, and effective communication among stakehold-
ers. However, these demands often lead to challenges in labor rights and sustainable practices.
This study investigates the impact of digital empowerment, employee creativity, and effective
stakeholder communication on achieving social sustainable development. Specifically, the im-
plications for social sustainable development in the industry are examined while incorporating
the mediating role of digital tools like Artificial Intelligence. The study employs a quantitative
approach, including a systematic collection of primary data via structured surveys from employ-
ees, managers, and industry stakeholders, followed by comprehensive analysis using PLS-SEM.
Findings reveal a positive impact of digital empowerment, employees’ creativity, and effective
stakeholder communication towards efficiency and problem-solving, leading to social sustain-
able development in fast fashion textile design and production. The study shows that advanced
digital communication platforms improve collaboration, decision-making, and ethical supply
chain management, ultimately enhancing social sustainability.
The study further explores the barriers to digital adoption in the fast fashion industry, includ-
ing limited technological infrastructure, resistance to change, and financial constraints. Conse-
quently, practical recommendations are provided for industry professionals, fashion brands, and
policymakers to develop strategies that maximize the benefits of digital tools while addressing
implementation challenges. The study underscores the importance of digital literacy, fostering
an innovation-driven work culture, and promoting regulatory frameworks that support social
sustainability. The findings offer actionable insights that can help fashion brands, textile manu-
facturers, and policymakers create a more ethical, responsible, and future-ready industry while
aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
