The thesis aims at identifying our centuries-old artisans' culture, exploring its ability to
provide restitution, inclusion and identity. The design aims at celebrating the indigenous
folk-art, analyzing our traditions and aspirations that symbolizes truck art. It will explore the
ability of design, as a point of departure in looking at how to approach and preserve a culture
and furthermore bridge the gap between our native artificer and the visitors. The research
explores the impact of truck art as a popular culture in our society and the aim is the formation
of contextually rich place making that offer opportunities to embrace the history and culture
of our region. The design proposes a communal cultural center taking in account our
traditions, beliefs and cultural needs where people can congregate and share skill. |
