dc.description.abstract W&R1 which is subsection of W&R (welfare and rehabilitation) deals with agriculture land almt maintain its records in the old traditional manner, like in files and registers. The maintenance of data and the retrieval of record from these large number of files is very difficult job which requires time and hence due to human error large the data available is not reliable. To overcome this dilemma, "W&R1 Database Management System' DBMS) has been developed. W&R1 DBMS is a database developed using Oracle 8 and Visual Basic. W&R1 DBMS is developed and designed after thorough study of working system of W&R1 Directorate and observing weaknesses in the system. Requirements of the potential users of W&R1 DBMS like the Dte, Directors. GSOls, GS02s and especially of clerical staff have been analyzed comprehensively. W&R1 DBMS manages not only the agriculture land being allotted but also proves to be check on those who has got illegal land. The database includes relational as well non-relational entities. W&R1 DBMS is designed for a Client/Server environment, where actual database is maintained on a central server. It is expected that W&R1 DBMS will optimize the performance of W&R Dte by providing desired information instantly and, providing information of different records used by W&R Dte. en_US
