This thesis explores the relationship between physical and metaphysical attributes of spaces
in contemporary architecture. The idea is to speculate how a physical entity forms a
dialogue with a non-physical entity in an architectural setting. The project is being seen from
a micro to macro level working on both, individual and holistic design approaches.
The thesis attempts to deal with the strength of intangibles in shaping up a form and
defining its programs and functions and therefore its experience. Even the minutest external
factors, concerning the space, show great changes in the quality and nature of it. The
concept is taken further to explain the presence of absence in a space.
Dealing with the intangibles in a space sensitively to the user's nature and requirement,
architecture successfully plays mind games with the user. It can dictate the actions and
feelings of a user as per its concept.
Experiencing architecture entails various dynamics. My goal is to explore the relationship
between physical and metaphysical aspect of contemporary architecture in a culinary
centre. |
