dc.description.abstract The idea of the Universal Decoder is to make the system more flexible and independent of the type of error detection codes used. The receiver in this case is a general purpose receiver. The transmitter no longer cares for the type of decoder used in the receiver. All what the transmitter has to do is to transmit the data and leave it to the decoder to decode it. This makes life easier for the transmitters. The same decoder now can be used for multiple transmitters using different types of encodings. en_US
