dc.description.abstract The aim of the project was designing and implementing a communication receiver capable of detecting, demodulating and decoding any incoming signal. Infect a complete communication system is developed to monitor and analyze the capabilities of the receiver in a real time environment. The important aspect of this project was to design a receiver with the capability of working with any type of modulated signal. This was achieved by simulating environment in matlab and testing the receiver in that simulated environment In addition to this, our project also include the signal encoding and decoding, implementation of all basic types of modulation on a digital signal, effect of different types of channels and in the end the error correction techniques. To remove some of the interference and other concerning issues regarding pulse shaping, filtering of all the signals is done both at the transmitted and received end. In short, design and simulation of a basic communication system with all the integral parts is covered by our project successfully with special emphasis on signal demodulation and detection without any prior knowledge of the incoming signal. en_US
