dc.description.abstract As the name suggests, this project is concerned with the interoperatability of all the electronic appliances in a modern home. It means that all the electronic devices like television, microwave oven, refrigerator, air conditioner, even fans and lights are connected to a main controller. Our incentive was to control these devices by a mere message sent from a computer. In this way, we can control all of our appliances. The devices are attached by specifically programmed Microcontrollers. The Central or Main Microcontroller is attached with the computer. We send our command from the computer to this Central Microcontroller. It then deciphers that command and sends the command to the respective device microcontroller. Once the command reaches the device microcontroller, it takes the appropriate action and performs the intended operation on that device. en_US
