dc.description.abstract Next Generation Networks are rapidly gaining momentum as the most promising media for communications in the coming age. Media mapping is the key element in merging the PSTN and PSDN in order to effectively communicate over Voice and Packet core networks. In view of these innovations we have implemented a Voice over IP Media Gateway able to handle different media types and provide us with a platform to intelligently manage calls and communicate in a more effective manner. Our VoIP Media Gateway acts as an IP-PBX in any environment and effectively emulates a call centre or any exchange. Our VoIP Media Gateway which is named JAMS Media Gateway is the state of the art solution for an intelligent exchange with various aspects of system managing, supervising and, monitoring. Its integration in a Telecom domain would lead to better call routing, additional features,agents monitoring and exchange management in a GUI based environment. en_US
