Abstract

The fundamental scope of our project is centralized around the provision of an integrated platform for the students, faculty and administration of the college. This centralized platform is intended to highly ease out the dissemination and sharingof important information amongst all the sectors of the college, thereby making the process efficient both in terms of time and effort. The basic features to be provided by this consolidated platform include an integrated noticeboard where pertinent messages can be updated and viewed comfortably and promptly; and a forum that is to act as a common center for discussion and consultation over various topics so that problems and corresponding solutions can be put forth by students and faculty. Besides, we also intend to provide blogging facilities to the students so as to provide a platform where they can share their ideas and thoughts. In order to ensure that relevant information reaches out to every concerned individual, we have allowed posts to be tagged to those concerned, and have integrated all notifications withfacebook.The added ability of creating groups will benefit teachers in sending common information to the classes, and societies like SPAL and SAS and all other organizing committees to have a common discussion point. Realizing that carrying portable drives all the time can be a discomfort, we have also provided storage space to all the students where they can upload and retrieve everyday used files. This storage space application is intended to function similar to Dropbox, so that the designated folder on the user system automatically updates changes in all the files of the folder in the files placed in the online storage space.Lastly, we have integrated the whole system with ERP so as to automate updating of the user database. These facets combined provide a great platform that will lead to consolidation of currently scattered and inefficient information sources prevalent in the college.
