dc.description.abstract This project develops a portable device implementing wireless technology and taking full advantage of the wide-spreading Internet to provide a convenient real time solution to monitor heart diseases and stroke .As heart diseases and stroke count up to 25% of all death in the world and 90% of the death can be prevented if timely medical actions can be taken. The health information acquired on the portable side transmits to the server wirelessly and can be accessed all over the Internet in real-time. All this enables people to know their risk of cardiac arrest themselves and notify the concerned doctor timely. The data acquired from the ECG is uploaded wirelessly to the server regularly through the Beagle board. This information is processed through diagnostic algorithms of various diseases to detect that either patient needs urgent treatment or not. The doctors who can view the data online can send notifications to bring patient’s attention in case of serious situation. The importance of this project is that we are going to implement Network Enabled Cardiac Monitor System which has a special meaning for cardiac patients as they will be able to monitor their cardiac activity all the time and can ask for help in emergency situation. This device renders an affordable solution for bridging the gaps between doctor and patients. en_US
