Abstract:
Traffic congestion is now a day part of our everyday life because of which
not only different stress diseases are becoming common but also a lot of
time is being wasted because of it. Especially in a Third world country like
Pakistan there isn't enough road capacity for the increasing numbers of
vehicles travelling on them, and rude and aggressive drivers make things
even worse. It is essential requirement to have a system that will not only
detect those traffic congestions but also help the user to reach its
destination through best possible path.
The proposed system is to provide a solution to those entire problems. It
will automatically monitor traffic density on road through CCTV cameras
and sensors and help the user to go for best path considering road
condition, traffic density and distance from the destination. Other than that
it will also be able to make predictions of traffic in near future from the
previous data using genetic algorithm, which will be helpful for the user to
plan ahead.
User will be able to monitor traffic condition through a web based
application. Application is designed to provide a visual view of traffic via
Google Maps. Moreover, a ticker on application will provide user to see
messages from other users about the traffic condition on different location.
User can also query the system via website to inform him about future traffic
condition.
