Abstract:
Technology advancement in upcoming days is inevitable and no one can deny its importance.
Everything in this technology driven world now is striving to turn towards automation. Smart
power homes are automated homes where a user can control its home appliances using his or
her smart phone. They can see the power consumed by each device and the house as a whole on
daily basis. This in turn will help them to cut short their usage of energy.
The home will be able to communicate with in its devices without any external command. Every
component will be connected to a centralized database where data will continuously and
regularly be updated. This will help in examining the power consumption of all devices centrally.
Such a system would lead us to an automation system where a user is free to switch the electrical
appliances in his home on/off from the comfort of sitting in his/her bed. This would reduce the
amount of monthly bill in his home as proved through implementation of this technique in other
foreign countries.
The future prospects of the project are huge as the world now is turning to IoTs. Our system will
be IoT based and its future involves that we will be able to optimize a user’s bill through different
intelligence algorithms. One would also be able to sell excessive power being produced through
solar panels to WAPDA. The possibilities are endless.
