dc.description PROJECT SUPERVISOR Brig DR. Shoab Ahmad Khan Assist. Prof. SAJID GUL KHAWAJA en_US
dc.description.abstract The fate of any country is decided by the elected members of Parliament and National Assembly of that country. Therefore it is very important that election process of that country must be fair enough so that only the most deserving persons are elected. All of us today are very well aware of all the kinds of pre-poll rigging like irregularities, mismanagement, corrupt individuals and other human errors which can effect this very important election process of any country. In order to overcome these problems we are replacing this old and manual system by a “BIOMETRIC VOTING MACHINE”. Our final product will be a machine for a Polling Station having two types of database, one for all the people eligible to cast vote and other for the candidates appearing in that area for election. There will be a thumb scanner interfaced to our machine and a touch screen. All the machines on different polling stations are connected to each other and all the results will be displaced on a website in the form of graphs in real time. The process will be carried out in such a way that a person who is willing to cast his vote will appear to respective polling station and he will first enter his ID card number and then scan his thumb. If that thumb impression matched with already stored impression against that id number than he will be allowed to cast his vote. This will ensure the fairness and dignity of this very important process as well as time efficiency increases also as compared to manual system. en_US
