dc.description.abstract |
The population of the world and Pakistan also, is rising exponentially. This problem is leading to
high growth and production of crops, vegetables and fruits. The resources have been proven not
to be enough for the growth of crops for such a large population. A lot of projects and products
have been developed to cater for this problem but they do not entertain and cover all the
problems all at once. We have decided to solve this problem and have tried to save the time and
money for the farmers thereby increasing the crop yield to provide farmers a better and more
authentic way to manage their day to day activities. A better solution that is not only able to save
their time but also money with the least efforts required and generating the best crop yield within
the limited time. This solution is not only solving the problems of the farmers related to
production and cultivation of the crops but also creating a facility for the nation as well. Now the
nation is able to get each and fruit and vegetable in every season and without having shortage
issues and problems. Now people are able to get every facility related to food within no time.
The feasible technique that provides them with the best sensor based technology. Our idea is to
develop an android application along with integrated sensors. The application will help the
farmers identify weeds and diseases using image processing. It will also help them to record the
field temperature, humidity and soil moisture. Also, it will help them pin a location of their field
along with maintaining a daily record of their findings. A better step towards a better solution is
proposed that can facilitate farmers in the best way possible. The project’s first step is to gain the
values from the temperature, humidity and soil moisture sensors; which operate on different
conditions and circumstances. Values from the sensors are got from the through NodeMCU.
NodeMCU has a built-in Wi-Fi module within it. This used to send values from the sensors to
the database. We get the values from the sensors and these values are sent to the firebase for the
analysis. After sending those values to the firebase through Wi-Fi module, these values are the
retrieved on the android application that we have developed for our project. Apart from the
visualization of the graph in our project, our android application has many other features as well.
The android application has news and information section for the different crops. There rates are
also communicated through the application to the customers of the specific area. The registration
panel holds the registration of the customers and personal information is stored in it. The finance
manager is able to manage the finances of the farmer. The sensor data values |
