dc.description.abstract All organizations regardless of their origin, area of operation and magnitude maintain their information in different categories based on its significance and impact of its disclosure / misuse. Organizations military or commercial assign their information with a classification level, which basically depicts the importance and handling of that information. In military organizations, the determination, assignment and subsequent handling of information classification level is sternly practiced. With the fast track advancements in the field of Information Technology (IT), methodical and sensitive Organization’s like Military are in process of rapidly converging their information processing methodologies from Manual or Paper Based to Automation (Paper Less/ Paper Free). These organizations being mission oriented, sensitive, and process bound require conscientious security measures for protection of systems, data and information. The main objective of this research has been to propose a Security Architecture that defines a Novel Practical and Layered Approach to the security of all information classification levels processed in Military Information Systems. It has been aimed to design the architecture so comprehensive that it identifies and addresses the requisite security requirements for all information classification levels and serves as baseline for building/upgrading military information security paradigm for automated information systems. en_US
