Abstract:
Pakistani political humor shows such as Hasbe Haal, are one of the most consumed genre. This
dissertation intended to analyze top rated political humor shows by taking parodies (N=74)
under consideration. Framing analysis was used to study humor frames and humor styles.
Further existence of the humor frames and their association was checked through chi-square. It
was revealed that denigration of a political figure (42.30%) was the most dominant theme in
denigration frame while exposure of a political situation (39.90%) was the most dominant
political situation. Humor styles result revealed that aggressive style (30.10%) was the most
dominant style overall and in all the other sub frames except denigration of shortages. The test
results revealed that there was no association between humor frames and humor styles.
