Abstract:
This study aims to carry out an in-depth analysis of the effects of multidimensional poverty on
population growth in Pakistan. Furthermore, this study provides a comparative framework of
time using facts and figures from the census held in 1998, and comparing it with the results of
the very recent census of 2017. Three variables including health, education, and living standards
are used as measures of multidimensional poverty in this study. The research was carried out
through the use of secondary data obtained from the National Bureau of Statistics, Pakistan. This
data was then analyzed through both content and trend analysis techniques to obtain results.
While a positive relationship was found between the increase in health, education and living
standards with population growth, the ratio of the increase remained inconsistent and
disproportionate.
