Abstract:
Given current developments in Pakistan, it is evident that Afghan refugee problem is expected to become gradually more complex as foreign aid for refugees is at all-time low, institutions are struggling for policies to get approval from cabinet and the country is facing serious security threat due to presence of unregistered refugees. This research study aims to analyze if there is a significant impact of leadership, intuitions and foreign aid on the afghan specific refugee policy of Pakistan. This study was conducted as an exploratory study to develop a better and more detailed understanding of the factors that are influencing the refugee policy making process of Pakistan. The methodology opted for this research paper is mixed methodology. It involves collection of analysis and integration of data through quantitative and qualitative instruments, primarily questionnaires and expert interviews. Since this research is based in both quantitative and qualitative methods, so both random sampling and purposive sampling techniques have been used. The results of the study show that institutions play a major role in the effectiveness of the refugee policy and foreign aid and leadership have minimum role because policy is basically drafted by the intuitions and its because of institutions like UNHCR and SAFRON that we’ve been able to cater refugees for the past four decades.
