dc.description.abstract Surveillance systems have been going through an era of development. This has been mainly because of the increasing need of security. Real-time surveillance has gained rising popularity due to their automatic surveillance and security actions. This mobile video surveillance is a real time intelligent system based on FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array). It provides the functionality of monitoring, security and control in order to improve efficiency of security system with respect to timing constraints. There are two units of the system: the first being FPGA which is connected with motion sensors, IP camera and GPRS/GSM module and the second unit is the mobile phone. Sensors monitor the target area including the entrance as well as windows. The video of the target area is continuously captured by the IP camera. In case of any abnormal situation, alarm messages are sent to the user’s mobile through GPRS/GSM module. The video is then transmitted to the user through Wi-Fi module. The user also has the option to arm/disarm the system. en_US
