dc.description.abstract Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs) are future wireless networks consisting entirely of mobile devices that communicate on the move without any fixed infrastructure. They use multi-hop peer-to-peer routing instead of static network infrastructure to provide network connectivity. These are wireless infrastructure-less networks in which the devices can move and communicate randomly without any backbone. Devices in these networks will both generate user traffic as well as application traffic to carry out network control and routing protocols. MANETs have applications in rapidly deployed and dynamic military and civilian systems. Our aim is to compare various protocols of MANETs in different scenarios and select a suitable protocol basing on the performance parameters of each protocol in these scenarios. en_US
