dc.description.abstract Undisturbed, reliable and secure communication is one of the most important and basic need for every public safety organization. To fulfill such needs a communication standard came into being known as Terrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA). TETRA standard gives many features, its two major features are • DMO (Direct Mode Operation) • AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) In our project, performance analysis of AES and Channel Coding/Interleaving for data encryption and error detection/correction will be carried out respectively. Encrypted data will be transmitted through the simulated physical layer of Terrestrial Trunked Radio, according to TETRA standard ETSI EN 300 396‐2 V1.3.1 (2006‐09).The Field Programmable Gate Array SPARTAN—3E starter kit will be used for the hardware implementation of the project. en_US
