Abstract:
Shopability is a web portal and Android application that provides customers a streamline shopping experience by allowing them to create their own virtual shopping cart. This shopping cart allows customers to inform shopability of their available budget and keeps track of all the shopping items bought by the customer so that they don’t run out of their preset cash. The Android Shopability app enables customers to scan each item they buy, and, in turn, creates a receipt for them on their android device while also sharing that list with the store. Consequently, the moment a customer reaches the checkout counter their bill is readily available to them, saving precious time. This in turn creates a simple procedure wherein you just pay, get your inventory checked and leave; shortening your stay at counter ergo reducing long lines at the same time. An additional feature provided by Shopability is price comparison of the same products at various stores, allowing customers to make informed shopping decisions and save their hard earned money. Shopability will keep track of customer’s shopping history and commission them to make their wishlist i.e. the products they want to buy in the future, as well. The web portal of Shopability will serve as a point of sales software for shopping malls. The project finds its applications in megastores by reducing workload of their staff and eliminating lengthy queues while also targeting any customer who wants to save their precious time and money.
