Abstract:
Most of the industrial plants have a control center or control room where a SCADA system is installed. This system enables a site operator to monitor and control processes that are distributed among various remote sites. Such systems reduce cycle time, improve quality and increase profit margin. Although Pakistan has industries in different fields of life but they are not generating profits as compared to other countries. The main reason is that all the configuration and monitoring is done manually by the labors. So in order to automate all the manufacturing process a system is needed to monitor and configure different components. Although specialized systems are available in the market but soft-wares are not available for standardization of the communications with the PLC (programmable logical devices) devices. So aim of this project is not only to develop a SCADA system but also to standardize the communication with PLC devices.
