dc.description.abstract In the wake of new and more sophisticated technologies easily available to those who can compromise the privacy of wireless communication by deploying new innovations, it is the need of the day to design and implement updated and enhanced encryption techniques to neutralise emerging threats. Encryption is a cryptographic technique used to effectively randomise and corrupt the contents of information being communicated between two entities to make it incomprehensible to the unintended receivers or intruders. There are a number of block cipher and stream cipher encryption techniques used to secure sensitive and private communications in the digital wireless communication systems. In this project we have designed and implemented the stream cipher encryption algorithm called Trivium stream cipher over voice communication in real time wireless domain. We have used Arduino Mega as our principal hardware to implement the encryption algorithm over audio signal. Trivium encryption has numerous advantages, for instance, it is the first innovation in the stream ciphers which is can be adopted to the available technology is terms of its strength and all attempts to crack it have been unsuccessful up to this day. We have developed the circuitry for practical implementation of the project. Implemented algorithm has produced promising results and its strength can be increased further by increasing the length of key and initialisation vector in the algorithm. en_US
