GSM based remote supervision of dementia patients

Abstract

The project undertaken is for the remote supervision of people (of older age) suffering from Dementia. Dementia is a serious loss of global cognitive ability. The overview of the project is that the system notifies remotely if the Dementia patient leaves his/her home or jurisdicted area or if he/she collapses. A module will be attached to the patient that will contain the gravity sensors as well as the GPS to know the location of the patient. If the patient moves out of the defined perimeter or collapses a notification will be send remotely via GSM to a mobile device. The complete project is dissected into various modules which are discussed individually.
