dc.description.abstract This project has been designed to make home automation easy to control when a person will not at be home. The project has been designed to allow easy use of a mobile phone to control home appliances. By using a mobile phone the control system will be developed using SMS. This will be communicating with another mobile phone, which in turn will control the devices attached to microcontroller modules. When the action has been carried out then a response will be sent to the user. This project contains a lot of working on micro-controller, computer and communication principles. It has used Light, Smoke and IR sensors for controlling lights, and various alarms. Water level sensor has been used for automatic switching of water pump. Serial communication will be used for controlling home devices via PC. The project also contains the usage of programming environment. MikroC has been used for programming microcontroller and Java has been used for transmitting serial data to microcontroller. Proteus is used for simulation of the circuit and for the developing PCB layout. en_US
