GPS has deepened its roots in strengthening of any armed forces and slowly and gradually has become a necessity to win wars against enemies. Besides this, SPS service which is freely available though out the world has been under consistent use for various scientific experiments and navigational aids. Therefore it calls for a device not only as its anti-system to weaken the threats and strengthen our own forces but to assist scientists and engineers in testing various navigational equipments. This system is much similar to a smart spoofer, which is intelligent enough to transmit SV signals on the same structure as of the actual satellite. As a result, the receiver can be spoofed and shall display wrong coordinates. The design is limited to SPS service on L1 band for NAVSTAR/GPS. We have used Xilinx Spartan II FPGA to implement baseband signal processing part of a Jammer. The RF part, which is essential for appropriate signal characterization, is designed using Lumped Microwave components. The system can be further modified to be used as a Pseudolite, for indoor GPS navigational system. |
