dc.description.abstract The satellite based on Android smart phone is relatively a new concept. Satellites namely Strand-1 (University of Surrey Space Centre, UK), Alexander, Graham and Bell (Ames Labs, NASA) have been successfully launched during last two years. One similar concept of strand one is this project, aims at design and development of communication and power system of small satellite, based on Android smart phone and COTS microcontroller. The satellite is being named as PKSATPHONE. This project consists of: Communication transceivers for uplink and downlink, Power system based on Li-ion Batteries and Photo Voltaic (PV) Solar cells. Communication transceivers will serve the purpose of communication with RF waves from ground station to satellite station and vice versa. To produce the amount of power needed for a satellite to function and to meet the power demands of its on-board instruments, power system will be designed. en_US
