dc.description.abstract Traffic Management System aims at avoiding the problem of Traffic Congestion which is a major issue being faced by Pakistan’s Corporate Sector in general. Traffic jams cause loss of fuel, time, energy, unnecessary wear and tear of vehicles and psychological stress. Due to this, production, distribution and consumption of goods and products are affected. Traffic Management System is based on existing Global System for Mobile and Global Positioning System technologies. The system intends resolving the problem of traffic congestion. The location of a target vehicle is continuously monitored through map based software at the monitoring unit. The level of congestion is determined based on human judgement through visual techniques and a warning message is sent to the target vehicle indicating a traffic jam at a specific location. This alerts the driver to change the route. en_US
