Abstract:
In recent times, presentations have become an important aspect of our lives, especially at the professional level. Various tools have already been created for this purpose, but we believe they are inadequate and leave the user handicapped in conveying their message across the board effectively. Thus, to facilitate Presenters (teachers, public-speakers etc), we created DIRT.
After a very thorough market survey, in which we reviewed over 30 tools, we found that currently popular tools (Powerpoint , Prezi etc.) lacked in providing vital features that assist the presenter in making sure their content is understood. Presenters also fail to use these tools properly, because they predispose their user towards bad presentation practices, and utilizing them to their full potential is hard and unintuitive.
Our project provides functionality to present information more elaborately, show inter-relation of different representations, and enables us to portray and deliver our thoughts and knowledge vividly. It has been made using the QT framework, and has a non-linear slide structure, that can be manipulated into logical representations such as time-lines, graphs and encapsulation layers
