dc.description.abstract This is the age of automation and the ability to navigate people in indoor environments can contribute to a large number of utility applications. We mainly spend most of our time indoors whether we are working, shopping, exercising at gyms, eating or studying. Indoors is where we spend money, conduct meetings and business transactions take place. We can use an indoor mapping and navigation tool for location sharing, advertising by location and most of all navigation itself. Other use cases have been discussed in detail later on in the report. GPS has massively increased the outdoor positioning accuracy, yet we still lag behind in having a similar positioning system for indoor environments. We have managed to create an android based indoor mapping and navigation system that measures the Earth’s magnetic field, records it and uses it for mapping the entire building and then tracking of the user’s location. en_US
