dc.description.abstract In smart cities, the application of technological innovations plays a vital role to provide improved urban services to citizens for improving their life-style and to help administrations achieve cost and time efficiency. The concept of electronic voting (e-Voting) has empowered the citizen to participate in the electoral process by means of ICT technologies, however; e-Voting lacks context-awareness and mobility for the voters. We propose mobile voting (m-Voting) as a context-aware and mobility-driven solution to exercise their voting right based on bio-metric based voter authentication. The context (such as gender, location, identification) and mobility (voting on the go) can support the electoral process and encourage voters to actively participate in the electoral process provided at their fingertips. The cloud-based technologies would be exploited to maintain voting data in a secure fashion, also utilizing cloud-servers to perform any data analytics and voting trends. A developed mobile app will provide the proof of the concept for m-Voting. The solution and the app’s usability, effectiveness and accuracy will be validated by means of mobile voting trials in organization(s) that exercises electoral process. en_US
