dc.description.abstract The process of designing progressive mechanized tools is very intricate and in some cases requires extensive experimental trials. A comprehensive research has been carried out to achieve a systematic mechanical design process for general products. Though there is a lack of a specific design approach, which deals with the mechanized tools to facilitate and provide a complete road map to the designer. The basic steps of the traditional design processes require proper revision and reorganization to achieve an optimum design solution for the industrial mechanized tools. In this research work, an effective design methodology for a product is presented. In this approach, the design process is simplified and a quality process map with comprehensive quality documentation is achieved. The proposed design process is validated in a practical shop floor environment and found highly effective. This methodology facilitates design and development of high performance, cost effective and excellent quality mechanized tool. en_US
