Abstract:
The project is to develop automated class scheduling system. When in operation, this system will manage makeup classes, display schedules for faculty members and changing scheduler according to faculty member’s requirements. The system should make it far more likely for faculty to be assigned to rooms that meet the requirements of the courses they teach. In addition, ACSS will allow for a rapid switch to another suitable room in the event of an emergency. This system will try to match up faculty and classrooms with instructional needs and allow having the stuff in a database where the system can make decisions with better information that hopefully will accommodate faculty with better space. The system will have scheduling techniques designed to quickly and efficiently generate classroom assignments. The system will allow for pre-assignment of classes when necessary and is capable of processing all course sections requiring assignments in less than one minute. The system will also allow the administration staff to keep up-to-date records on every class and event scheduled in a classroom. To improve interaction between students, faculty and training department, this system is developed to change the way the university serves its students, faculty and training department. This system will provide solutions and tools that improve accessing and utilizing information about classes and physical resources. This will be accomplished by increased reliance on electronic information, Web based self-services etc.
